At this stage, the page numbers are keeping ahead of the days of the year (Day 18 - Page 20), if I can keep this rate up, the explanatory comic should be finished before the middle of the year. I hope it can be finished before then, but we'll have to wait and see.

There feels like I need to do more on this page, so it's subject to change over the next couple of days/weeks as a few more pages fall into place. A few people have been commenting around the notion of "show, don't tell"...by this I mean that there should be less descriptive elements of text, and more images or discussion between characters. Personally I'm aiming for a balance, and there will be some pages with a lot of images as well as quite a few "speech-heavy" pages.

Blog improvement

To improve readability and to make the comic more accessible, I'll be adding an index page to the blog, where each of the comic pages can be accessed and read in order (rather than the reverse chronological order that the blog uses for presentation).

Additionally, when I get the chance, I'll compile the pages into a living document pdf, which will make reading the comic easier still.

Hopefully, I'll get to make these changes some time in the next week or two.

Why the jump to "page 6" in the title? That's because the first image I posted will be page 5 of the book...it will follow a title page, credits, and a table of contents. The rest of the pages will be numbered in sequence from here.

To get things started, here are a few of the images that I've put together for characters sheets and player handouts.

Welcome to Walkabout

To avoid cluttering the "Observations of the Fox" blog any further than it is already, this will be the home of the Walkabout explanatory comic, and other points of interest for the Walkabout roleplaying/storytelling game.

Hopefully, this should be updated a few times each week with new pages of the explanatory comic (which is currently looking at about 160 pages). By the end of the year, the entire comic should be ready for publication.

Posts from this blog will be shared with the Walkabout RPG Group on Google Plus, as well as my personal circle of "Those who will Survive the Apocalypse".

For now, it's time to finish off the first few pages of the comic so that there will be something good to read here.
